MobLand Secures Season 2 as Paramount+ Crime Hit Continues Its Global Surge

Paramount+ has officially renewed its breakout crime drama MobLand for a second season, following a record-setting debut that drew more than 26 million viewers worldwide. The series, created by Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, quickly became one of the streaming platform’s most-watched original titles after premiering in March 2025.

Led by Tom Hardy, alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, MobLand centers on rival crime families locked in a violent struggle for control. The show blends classic gangster storytelling with modern political and family conflict, earning strong engagement across international markets.

According to Paramount+, production on Season 2 is already underway, with filming beginning in late 2025. While no official release date has been announced, industry estimates suggest the new season is likely targeting a late-2026 or early-2027 launch window, depending on post-production timelines.

Producers have confirmed that the core creative team and principal cast are expected to return, signaling narrative continuity rather than a soft reboot. Executive producer David Glasser described the production as “one big family,” emphasizing that the same leadership remains in place behind the camera.

Season 1 concluded with major power shifts and unresolved conflicts, setting the stage for deeper political maneuvering and expanding criminal operations in the upcoming season. While plot details remain under wraps, Paramount+ has hinted that the scale of the story will grow, with new alliances and betrayals reshaping the balance of power.

With crime dramas continuing to dominate streaming platforms, MobLand’s renewal signals Paramount+’s commitment to expanding high-budget serialized storytelling — and confirms the show’s position as one of the service’s flagship franchises moving forward.
